“Rock and roll is dead,” is something people say. These people are wrong. On Friday, Reignwolf released Hear Me Out, the first-ever full-length album from the band helmed by singer/guitarist Jordan Cook after years of one-off singles and mounting buzz built on explosive live performances and festival appearances.
Led by the single “Black and Red,” Hear Me Out was well worth the wait.
“Over & Over” is easily a standout track on the album. Occupying a space previously held by the Black Keys, but with a nagging urgency that almost approaches an anxious feeling, the track just slams through the speakers (or headphones, whichever you prefer):
Across its 10 tracks and 29-minute run time, it’s easy to see why Reignwolf has amassed the type of fan base that has sold out the band’s upcoming tour dates. There’s a vibrancy with these song that resonates, a garage-rock earnestness that just refuses to be denied or be listened to with the volume turned down.
