John Mayer Premieres Laid-Back New Song ‘I Guess I Just Feel Like’ (Listen)

The accompanying artwork for John Mayer’s new song “I Guess I Just Feel Like” features the phrase “No Frills” — and that’s entirely appropriate for the track, which Mayer released on digital platforms Friday.

Continuing the guitarist/singer’s recent trend of releasing a single here and there, this one just showed up without any mention of an EP or album on the way, but it takes on a decidedly different feel from the other song he premiered over the past few months, “New Light.”

This one, starting out with gentle acoustic guitar strumming before falling into place with the sort of sounds Mayer explored on 2012’s Born and Raised album, is a very relaxing, laid-back listen. Do so below:

Consider that song in contrast to “New Light,” which Mayer premiered a few months back and added a totally bonkers music video to boot:
