YUNGBLUD is on the cusp of breaking out in a big way, and Thursday’s music video premiere of the song “11 Minutes” will go a long way toward making that a reality.
The 20-year-old English musician (birth name Dominic Harrison), who released his first full-length album, 21st Century Liability, last summer and was part of the Foo Fighters’ Cal Jam Fest last fall, joined up with indie/pop singer Halsey and drummer Travis Barker for the track. In the video, YUNGBLUD has to go through, over and over, a harrowing 11-minute stretch of waking up and trying to rush to the scene of a car accident involving Halsey (whom Harrison is said to be dating at the moment in real life).
The video is very well-made and stylized, and the song’s pretty catchy. Watch it below:
The song features a stark difference in structure and overall feel from “Loner,” which YUNGBLUD premiered in January and is a jagged, Britpop-influenced rocker that isn’t too far outside the realm of his 2017 album:
Might these two songs, as disparate in feel as they may be, be part of an upcoming album release for YUNGBLUD? It’s unclear at the moment, but stay tuned.
He’s definitely on the rise, at any rate …
