Al Green Adds Tour Dates in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles to Schedule of First Live Gigs in Over Seven Years

Two weeks ago, iconic soul singer Al Green announced a handful of live dates for later in 2019, his first public performances in more than seven years, not including an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman in 2014 that took place as part of the festivities surrounding his involvement in the Kennedy Center Honors.

On Tuesday, Green announced three additional dates to accompany the ones previously detailed: Radio City Music Hall in New York City, the Chicago Theatre in Chicago and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

The dates, as they look now:

Apr 24 Bass Concert Hall Austin, TX
Apr 26 The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory Irving, TX (Dallas)
Apr 28 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival New Orleans, LA
Apr 30 Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land Sugar Land, TX (Houston)
May 3 Fox Theatre Atlanta, GA
May 5 Radio City Music Hall New York, NY
May 7 The Chicago Theatre Chicago, IL
May 9 Greek Theatre Los Angeles, CA

In the years since, the Reverent Al Green has mostly kept to his ministry in Memphis, but clearly feels it’s time to make a return to the stage … and we couldn’t be happier to see it.

Do you know if he will sign gospel songs or classic soul songs?
