Over the weekend, recently-knighted Sir Ringo Starr celebrated his 78th birthday — and yes, he got by with a little help from his friends in the All-Starr Band (and Johnny Depp and Joe Perry):

78 is a big birthday for Starr, who turns a year older just shortly after his friend and Beatles band mate, Sir Paul McCartney, who celebrated his 76th back in mid-June. Together, the pair of surviving Beatles are among the most revered and cherished musical icons the world has ever seen.
Back in late 2017, Rock Cellar was fortunate enough to be granted an audience with Ringo in Las Vegas, where he was on tour with the All-Starr Band. The result was one of our best RockCellarTV episodes, in which he discusses a number of things with interviewer Ken Sharp — from the Beatles to the formative albums of his childhood, songwriting, and much more.
Enjoy the interview below if you haven’t yet:
Happy (belated) birthday, Ringo! Peace and love, forever.
