Beginning in early March, Ann Wilson will embark on a solo tour across much of the United States.
Dubbed the Ann Wilson of Heart Tour, the trek will span 20 shows and looks to be a special night for fans of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame icon.
Wilson’s statement:
“The stage is a magical place where I can be beautifully in and out of control, where I can build a fire and then jump into it. The stage is where I have always lived; where I’ve expressed my deepest emotions and supreme joys. I suppose I am addicted to it. I’ve never been much good at talking, but I can sing, and when I sing I connect with people in a much deeper, higher way.”
Wilson also promised that fans can “expect the unexpected” at the shows, as well as:
“A beautiful, classy set with an elegant, artistic production…The music will be a mix of songs that have powered my life; iconic soul stirring covers, songs from my years of solo work and the unforgettable songs of Heart.”
Accompanying Wilson on her solo jaunt is guitarist Craig Bartock, bassist Andy Stoller and Denny Fongheiser on drums/percussion.
This tour comes at a busy time for Wilson: she and Nancy Wilson released a new Heart album, Beautiful Broken, and went on a big Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-themed tour with fellow inductees Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and Cheap Trick.
