On September 11, the Hollywood Vampires will arrive. A new supergroup involving Alice Cooper, Aerosmith‘s Joe Perry and actor Johnny Depp, their debut album will be released in conjunction with a handful of newly announced concert appearances.
The band’s name pays homage to Alice Cooper and his band of musician pals that would party around the Los Angeles scene back in the early 1970s – a group that included Ringo Starr, Harry Nilsson, Micky Dolenz, John Lennon and Keith Moon, to name a few.
Their debut LP due 9/11 was produced by Bob Ezrin and features a ridiculous array of special guests, including:
- Paul McCartney
- Joe Walsh
- Brian Johnson
- Zak Starkey
- Dave Grohl
- Perry Farrell
- Robby Krieger
- Kip Winger
and more. Sales from the album will go to MusiCares.
As for the gigs: the Vampires have scheduled two shows at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood for September 16 and 17 – these will be their *only* U.S. shows. In addition to that gig, they’ll play on September 24 at Rock in Rio in Brazil.
Tickets for the Roxy gigs will go on sale Friday, August 14 via Ticketfly.
